Spiritual Life

Friends of Fr. Tolton

Mision Statement

We are the faithful Friends of Father Augustus Tolton, who was born a slave and the first Black priest to serve in the United States. We believe in the cause for his canonization. Centered at Holy Name Cathedral, we invite people of all ages, races, and ethnic backgrounds, to join us as we pray through his intercession and for his canonization. We serve the community by generating activities that educate others about his life of suffering service to God and the Catholic Church. The Friends of Fr. Tolton meet most third Sundays of the month in the Rectory.

For any additional information, please email Fr. Andy Matijevic.
