Cathedral
Cornerstone
Campaign

Thank You, Thank You!

Dear People of God,

By God’s grace, the Cornerstone Campaign exceeded its $12M goal. To date, we have raised $12.19m!

Today, my heart is filled with profound gratitude. This magnificent milestone was not achieved by a handful of generous donors alone, but by countless parishioners, friends, and benefactors who believed in the future of Holy Name Cathedral and responded with extraordinary faith and generosity. For this, I am deeply grateful.

Over the past year, I have witnessed inspiring acts of stewardship. Some gave from abundance. Others made sacrifices quietly and prayerfully. Many offered not only financial support but also their prayers, encouragement, and unwavering belief in our Cathedral’s mission. Every gift, no matter the size, carried with it a story of faith, love, and hope.

Together, we have done more than raise funds. We have strengthened the foundation of a spiritual home that has welcomed generations of Catholics and visitors seeking God’s presence. For the past 150 years, we have helped ensure that Holy Name Cathedral will continue to be a place where children are baptized, couples exchange wedding vows, families gather to mourn loved ones, and countless people encounter Christ in moments of joy, sorrow, and grace.

This achievement belongs to all of us. It is a testament to what can happen when a Faith Community comes together with a shared vision and a trust in God’s providence.

Although we have exceeded our $12 million goal, our journey is not complete. Every additional gift provides an opportunity to further enrich Holy Name Cathedral as a place of prayer, beauty, hospitality, and evangelization for generations to come. As we continue discerning additional needs to enhance our Cathedral campus, we are also mindful that the Holy Father may visit Chicago in the years ahead. Together, we can ensure that Holy Name Cathedral remains worthy of its sacred role as the Mother Church and a welcoming home for all who enter its doors.

May God bless you abundantly and reward your generosity for generations to come. My prayers are with you and your loved ones.

With profound gratitude,

Fr. Greg

Chicago’s Catholic Cornerstone

Our Cathedral is a cornerstone of Catholic life in Chicago. A place where life and faith is shared and celebrated. As we reflect on our rich legacy, we are reminded of the milestones that have shaped us. With the celebration of the 150 year anniversary as the Cathedral in full swing, and the historic election of the first American Pope, there is renewed energy and a palpable excitement which calls us to not only honor the past, but embrace how we can reinforce it for the future.

We have an extraordinary opportunity to build upon this momentum. Through the Cathedral Cornerstone Campaign, our goal is to raise $12,000,000 to reinforce the foundations and envision the future of Holy Name Cathedral. This campaign is not just about preserving bricks and mortar, it is about safeguarding the heart of our Cathedral, ensuring that Holy Name remains a welcoming sanctuary for generations to come. Together, we can strengthen the cornerstones of our faith and secure the future of our spiritual home.
