Docent Tours
The Cathedral is where the faithful gather to worship, but it is also a place of architectural magnificence and deep spiritual meaning. Group tours are available to deepen your understanding and appreciation for the space we worship in.
Guided tours by a docent are available upon request at least 5 days ahead of the intended date for the tour. Guided tours are available during the week and Saturday between 9:00am and 5:00pm (excluding 12:00pm due to Daily Mass). Wednesday afternoon is unavailable due to Eucharistic Adoration in the Cathedral (open to the public). Tours are also not offered on Sundays, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Easter, or federal holidays.
Group tours of five or more people can last anywhere between 15 minutes and an hour, based on the needs and size of the group. Tour availability may also be affected by other Cathedral events. A tour by a docent is free, though free-will donations are accepted, which go to the structural upkeep of the Cathedral.

We offer a quick express tour every Sunday after the 8:30am and 10:30am Masses and an extended tour after the 12:30pm Mass on the first and third Sundays. These tours do not need to be pre-scheduled, as they are open to the public. Tours are subject to change based on the Cathedral calendar and additional events that may be occurring.
Our Holy Name Cathedral Faith Community celebrates a major milestone this year. Nov. 18, 2024, marked the 175th anniversary of the founding of Holy Name Parish. We have planned a year-long celebration with something for everyone. Visit our 175th page for the next event!
