Young at Heart Ministry

The Young At Heart Ministry seeks to create a welcoming and supportive community for adults aged 55 and better, fostering social and spiritual engagement centered on Christ. We aim to strengthen our faith, build meaningful relationships, and share our experiences in a spirit of joy, service, and love, all while keeping the light of Christ shining brightly in our hearts.

Join Us for Young at Heart!

“When our lives are centered on Christ – our hearts united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus – good things come forth in our words and actions. We don’t keep the light of Christ burning in our hearts hidden. Instead, we allow works of mercy to emerge from our hearts that are at peace with God and at peace with others. This keeps us all YOUNG AT HEART.”

Father Bob Regan.

Who Can Join: Adults aged 55 years (or better) are warmly welcomed! Whether you’re looking to make new friends or deepen existing relationships, we invite you to join our gatherings.

Saturday, September 27 at 11:00am

Join Us for Young at Heart! Given the many misconceptions about the documents of Vatican II, Fr. Pat Gorman, Cardinal’s secretary, will be presenting on this important topic. A quick fact – Fr. Pat, Fr. Andy, and I previously served together at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish in Park Ridge, and now are reunited here at the Cathedral. Oh boy!

Father Patrick Gorman, born in Park Ridge and partly raised in Columbus, Ohio, studied computer science at Notre Dame and Purdue before discerning his call to the priesthood. His journey included teaching in Taiwan and working in microfinance in China. He was the associate priest at St. Alphonsus, director of Chicago seminarians and the propaedeutic year, and now serves as Administrative Secretary to the Archbishop.
