Thursday/Friday Suppers Ministry
Thursday-Friday Suppers Ministry – held at Catholic Charities facility on LaSalle Street
No matter how much time you can give or your talents, the Thursday/Friday Supper program can use your help. What is it? Holy Name Cathedral parishioners volunteer every Thursday and Friday to serve 220 people who need a helping hand at any of the Suppers held at Catholic Charities facilities located at 721 N. LaSalle (LaSalle & Superior).
There are a number of ways to get involved:
Serve at Catholic Charities: Volunteers pack 75 hot meals to go and serve a hot meal to 145 sit-down guests, working from 3:30pm – 6:00pm on a Thursday or Friday. Click here
Bake: Volunteers are needed to bake 220 cookies or small desserts we serve at our Thursday/Friday suppers.
Donations: All food for the program is provided by HNC. We need help finding reaching out and finding local restaurants to donate 220 meals for one of the Thursday or Fridays during the month.
Entertainment: Can you play the piano? We would love to entertain the guests with music on Thursdays and Fridays from 5-6pm
Restaurant Donors: The following restaurant donated meals to the Thursday and Friday suppers served each week by Holy Name Cathedral parish to the local hungry.
DMK Burger Bar – 2954 N. Sheffield Ave., Chicago, IL 60657.
DMK Fish Bar – 2956 N Sheffield Ave., Chicago, IL 60657.
Italian Village Restaurants – 71 W Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60603.
As you may dinning out, please consider supporting them for their generous support of our ministry. Be sure to mention that you are from Holy Name Cathedral and appreciate their donations. Thank you
