Chicago Shares

Chicago Shares is a unique, not-for-profit corporation founded in 1993 by Holy Name Cathedral parishioners and leadership to help generous folks respond to those in need who are living on the street and asking “Can you spare some change so I can get something to eat?” Chicago Shares are food vouchers purchased from our website or at a church, such as Holy Name. These $1 vouchers (sold in booklets of $5) can be used only for food and necessities at Jewel-Osco stores. Chicago Shares is a proven, safe, convenient, and respectful alternative to “throwing coins in a cup.” Chicago Shares are available for purchase every third Sunday of the month before and after the 8:30am and 10:30am Masses in the Cathedral vestibule.
