Mental Health Awareness Month – May 17

As we enter May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month, we invite you to a deeper reflection on the connection between our faith, physical fitness, and our mental well-being. The Catholic Church increasingly acknowledges the importance of mental health as part of the dignity of the whole person—mind, body, and soul.

Our upcoming Faith & Fitness gathering — on Sunday, May 17 at 4:00pm in the Club Room — will be a special session dedicated to exploring how exercise and our spirituality shape our emotional and psychological health. In a world where many experience stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness, our faith and exercise offer not only comfort but also practical pathways toward healing and resilience.

Research continues to show the positive impact of spiritual practices on mental health. Prayer, reflection, and communal support can foster a sense of purpose and belonging.
