To Jesus through Mary: Praying the Mystery Focused Rosary

This devotion invites Catholics to pray the rosary in a renewed perspective. As stated by a newly initiated Catholic who proposed this approach:

“For me personally, I know many non-Catholics who see the Holy Rosary and assume that this is a prayer to Mary. Many inquirers may also come from this background, as I did. In reality, the Holy Rosary is firmly centered on the mysteries of Christ’s life. I think even devout Catholics who repeat the prayers but forget to reflect on the mysteries would benefit from a community prayer which focuses not on simply completing the devotion, but instead on the mysteries of the Rosary.”

Every Sunday, parishioners and inquirers gather to pray the Rosary. We gather in the Chapel, after the 8:30am Sunday Mass. The pace of the prayer allows beginners to learn how to pray the Rosary, deepen our comprehension of the Mysteries, and create a relationship to Jesus through Mary. For cradle Catholics, we learn how to slow down in our devotion, and entering a deeper reflection of the prayer.

Rosary Legacy Initiative

Recently, individuals sought to engage in the devotion of the rosary. These requests come from newly initiated Catholics, those rediscovering their Catholic faith, as well as those who never had a decent rosary. We invite you to donate rosaries of decent quality to our ministry. Consider a rosary that may have been a gift, passed down, or purchased years ago.

There will be a small canvas bag in the rectory for each donated rosary. There will also be a small note card available for you to give a history of the rosary, allowing you to pass on the first name of a previous owner or for a prayer for the new owner. All donations remain anonymous. The bag is given to a recipient, whom we pray will cherish it. Possibly, in time, it may be passed on to another!
