Adult Confirmation

ADULT CONFIRMATION

If you are over the age of 18, baptized Catholic, regularly attending Mass and receiving Communion, and think God is calling you to deepen your faith and make an adult commitment to it, you may be feeling the call to the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Our Winter Classes Start on February 4 at 6:30pm.

Adults (19 yrs old and older) seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation may register for this eight session preparation.  Sessions begin February 4, 6:30 p.m.- 8 p.m., and continue for the next seven Thursdays. Sessions will occur online.  Reception of the sacrament occurs on Saturday, April 24 at 2:00pm. Space is limited.  There is a $75.00 registration fee.

Baptismal and First Communion certificate copies are required for us to process the registration form.

(If you are under age 19, our parish regulation is that we must have a letter of permission from the pastor of your parish in order for you to receive Confirmation at Holy Name Cathedral).

Preparation Sessions:
The purpose of these classes is to give you an opportunity to update your faith and to give you a good look at how the Church understands Confirmation today. Preparation sessions cover topics such as Scripture, Jesus Christ, Sacraments, and more.

A Reconciliation Service is included for those who have never participated in the Sacrament of Reconciliation or have not experienced the healing power of the sacrament recently.

Preparation session dates:
Preparation sessions will take place on seven Thursday evenings from 6:30PM unitl 8:00PM online via Zoom:

February 4, 11, 18, 25

March 4, 11, 18, 25

The Rehearsal is TBD – it will be held in the Cathedral and is both a rehearsal for Confirmation and a Reconciliation service, with an opportunity for individual Confession.
