2018 Appeal for Mothers and Children in Need
For over 15 years, our Human Concerns Commission has turned to our parish to seek support for those who promote the cause of life. Each January, worthwhile causes have been presented to you for your material and financial help.
On the weekend of January 6 & 7, volunteers will be at the State Street doors collecting diapers of all sizes as well as cash donations to assist the following two local charities.
Casa Catalina Basic Needs Center is located on the campus of Holy Cross parish, 4500 S. Ashland, serving a predominately Mexican American community. In addition to providing a food pantry, there is an outreach to expectant and new mothers who may be in need of diapers and other baby items, especially important for working mothers with children in day care.
St. Joseph Services is a north side ministry of the Daughters of Charity. Offering many services such as after school programs, safe haven for children, open gym, citizenship and English classes, it also supports expectant and new mothers in need of resources for care for their children.
Please consider helping these two causes.
