The place where Chicago goes to celebrate the sacraments, proclaim the Gospel, and carry out Christ’s message through prayer and deed.
My dear friends,
Join me in thanking God for the life and leadership of Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., the Archbishop of Chicago from 1997-2014 who went home to our Lord Friday, April 17.
Pray as well that the powerful mercy of Jesus, in which our Cardinal had such trust, has ushered him into heaven. As Archbishop Blase Cupich encouraged us, “let us heed his example and be a little more brave, a little more steadfast and a lot more loving. This is the surest way to honor his life and celebrate his return to the presence of God.”
On your behalf I extend sympathy to his family, and to our Church of Chicago. Pray for Cardinal George as he enters the full light of the Kingdom of God.
In the Holy Name of Jesus,
Giving to Holy Name
Stewardship is the recognition that all we have is a gift from God.
It asks that we use our time, talent, and treasure to fulfill the depth of our commitment to Holy Name Cathedral.
The Stewardship & Development office at Holy Name Cathedral seeks to actively facilitate the innate generosity of our parishioners
and friends of the Cathedral, as well as effectively communicate the needs of the parish and the opportunities for involvement.
The faith community provides the much needed financial resources that help Holy Name Cathedral continue its
good work and advance the mission of the Church.
